Fun Facts

My long term goal is to become a professor of philosophy, and I want to do this for three reasons. First is that I love philosophy, in part because it intersects every other subject. The second is that I want to understand everything I can about the world around me, and I want to instill that in other. Finally, I want to teach. Really that means that I want to spread the love of learning that I've acquired. As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

About Me

I am a senior Philosophy major at Brown University. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and I graduated with honors from Santa Rosa Junior College where I earned an Associates degree in mathematics. I changed majors after transferring to Brown because I wanted to follow my passion, and I believe in playing to your strengths.

Experience

While attending high school I tutored other students in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, including several daily one-on-one sessions. I worked part time providence">tutoring College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus I while I attended Santa Rosa Junior college. I have years of experience with both writing and editing prior to returning to school at the junior college. I also love working with kids of all ages from little ones all the way up.

Approach

I have a history of difficulty in school, including dropping out of high school at 17. Sense then I have learn many important things about coping with my learning disabilities, and learning disabilities in general. I believe in a patient and understanding approach to providence">tutoring, and I find that most people preform much better with even a little help and understanding. However, I've never been one for half measures, or only giving a little help.

I am a philosophy major at Brown University with a 3.8 GPA. My specialization is in metaphysics, but I am well versed in epistemology, ethics, and formal logic as well. Other regularly rely on me to clarify difficult passages and concepts to other students in my courses.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I am a philosophy major at Brown University with a 3.8 GPA, and reading comprehension is indispensable in philosophy courses. Additionally reading is one of my core passions ever since I learned to read. I didn't learn to read until 4th grade; I consider it a hard won skill, and one everyone should master.
