Fun Facts
My biggest passion in life is traveling and going on new adventures. I have traveled to beautiful places like Alaska, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, various tropical paradises and to many States in our beautiful country. I am originally from Florida but moved to Maryland for a change of scenery and school. I enjoy being outdoors, playing and watching sports,surfing,crabbing,boating and watching jeopardy. I thoroughly enjoy learning new things and exploring.
About Me
I am in my senior year at maryland/towson">towson-university">maryland/towson">Towson University, working on completing my degree for the duel Elementary and education/maryland/baltimore">Special Education program. I have made the Deans List in both of my 2 semesters at maryland/towson">Towson. I entered maryland/towson">Towson in the fall as a transfer student from Anne Arundel Community College, where I received my Associate of Arts in Teaching and education/maryland/baltimore">Special Education.When I graduate, I hope to remain at maryland/towson">towson-university">maryland/towson">Towson University to complete my Masters degree in the Autism Spectrum Disorder program.
Experience
Once I realized what I wanted to major in, I decided to immerse myself in as many opportunities as I could. I have volunteered at the Special Olympics and Read Across America, walked for Autism Speaks, and got a job working one on one with a young boy on the Autism Spectrum who was also diagnosed with Crit Du Chat and Cystic Fibrosis. I have implemented lesson plans that follow the MD CCSS, as well as worked one on one with struggling students through my experiences student teaching.
Approach
As a child, I struggled with math and reading, but with the persistence of summer maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring and a compassionate and optimistic teacher, I was able to reach my full potential in those subject areas. As a future educator, I will always attempt to find ways to reach each individual learner with patience, kindness and compassion. I will find ways to alter my approach to ensure successful learning and to facilitate building self-confidence within each struggling student.

Elementary/Special Education
Arts Tutoring
I have taken drawing. painting, and classes working with clay. I have received an A in each class. I have volunteered with profoundly disabled students in various arts and crafts, and I find myself to be extremely creative in all art aspects.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I have worked one on one and in small groups with students struggling to master specific content areas in a pull-out setting. I assisted in re-teaching subject areas as well as building conceptual knowledge to allow for successful learning.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have completed and implemented lessons for elementary math, ranging from grades 1-5th, and following the Maryland Common Core State Standards. I have also taken various collegiate math course such as Statistics, Algebra and Pre-Calculus. I have assisted various struggling elementary students in all mathematical subject areas.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have recently completed my Reading Comprehension and writing courses at Towson University. I received A's in all of my courses and was able to implement reading and writing lesson plans that followed the Maryland Common Core State Standards.
Science Tutoring
I have taken many science courses ranging from physical science to earth and space science. I have successfully implemented several elementary science lessons and experiments, including assessments on the content area. I have worked one on one with students in grades 1-5 as well as larger groups and whole class lessons.
English Tutoring
I am confident in my abilities to tutor in English. I have taken advanced English college courses and have received A's in each of the courses. I am very familiar with the Maryland Common Core State Standards for English.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I am extremely confident in my abilities to assist in coaching time management skills and organization in order to successfully complete homework and assignments.
Science Tutoring
I have taken college level Earth and Space science, Physical science, Anatomy, and Science history. I am confident in my abilities to assist with chemical compounds, and general science. I am extremely familiar with Maryland's Common Core State Standards.
Study Skills Tutoring
I am extremely organized and I have great time management skills. I juts completed a 21 credit hour semester and received straight A's. I attribute my grades to my study skills.
Writing Tutoring
I have taken upper-level college writing courses and received A's in each. Writing in one of my strongest subject areas and I am extremely familiar with the Maryland Common Core State Standards.
