Fun Facts

I love most sports, especially soccer, basketball, and golf. While I'm not great at golf, I enjoy the challenge the game offers. I have 3 nephews and a niece which makes me very familiar spending time and managing young kids. I also play some piano and any percussion instrument.

About Me

I am a junior accounting major at the University of San Francisco in the Richmond District. Previously, I was a physics major, but the concepts eventually went beyond my abilities. I realized I was a more concrete thinker which is why I chose Accounting.

Experience

As an assistant coach with the First Tee I worked closely with large numbers of kids while also teaching one of my current passions, golf. At some points I was responsible for over 20 kids aged 8-12, and so I needed to react quickly and speak directly and specifically while also being playful and entertaining. I also volunteered at a children's hospital where I had the chance to supervise and entertain outpatient children. It was an eye-opening experience.

Approach

My approach to tutoring stems back to when I was in middle school learning the most effective way to provide feedback on someone's work: be specific, be kind, be useful. Today I translate it slightly differently but the idea is the same. I always try to be patient, kind, very specific while making sure the student understands each concept I explain.
