
Fun Facts
I really get into cycling. Even after the transition from rural suburbia to the city I still manage to get out and get my 5k in everyday. During tutoring sessions I will sometimes make analogies between cycling and the subject at hand in order to help the student better visualize the content.
About Me
I am currently a junior at Drexel University. I major in Chemical Engineering, which involves many aspects of chemistry, physics, and math. Recently I have been admitted into a BS/MS program which will allow me to finish my Masters in Chemical Engineering in the Spring of 2018.
Experience
Throughout high school and college I would often help friends with classwork, ranging from test prep to more regular homework assignments. Personally, it helped me cement the fundamentals of various subjects and gave me the opportunity to branch out and help others.
Approach
During tutoring sessions I initially find out what the student's goals are, due to the fact that some are just looking to pass a class while others want to understand a given subject in greater detail. From this point I create a set list of goals over a one to two moth period so that the student has a bigger picture to look to, but also has smaller goals that can be accomplished on a weekly basis. In lessons I like to draw upon the parallels between everyday life and the subject of interest.

Chemical Engineering
Calculus I Tutoring
I have tutored fellow students at the college level in Calc I. Furthermore I have also taken it at the AP level in high school, and I managed to score a 5 on the exam. Also in many of my engineering courses I use differential calculus on a regular basis.

I have tutored fellow students at the college level in Calc II. Furthermore I have also taken it at the AP level in high school, and I managed to score a 5 on the exam. Also in many of my engineering courses I use integral calculus on a regular basis.

I have taken many chemistry courses throughout my high school and college career. Being from NY state I am familiar with regents (high school) level chemistry, and have taken AP Chemistry. At university I am pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering and have completed a quantitative chemistry course.

I am an engineering student and many of the everyday problems consist of algebraic solutions. Many that I have taken often involve memorizing a finite number of formulas, however the real mastery comes in knowing how to bend them around with algebra. Courses I have taken which exemplify this are Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.
English Tutoring
In high school I took both AP English Literature, and AP English Language. These course helped prepare me for university level writing as I have gone on to complete ENGL 101, and ENGL 102 in college. My main topics often included analyzing poetry and rhetoric.
Geography Tutoring
I have always been interested in geography since I won the Geography Bee in middle school. In addition to this I have taken AP Human Geography, and have found these skills useful in other social studies courses. Furthermore I like to use tools such as sporcle to help students memorize certain geographical terms.
German Tutoring
I was an exchange student in Germany the second year of high school, and this aided in attaining fluency. As a non-native speaker I have gone through many of the difficulties associated with learning a new language from the English perspective.
Math Tutoring
In my senior year of high school I took AP Calculus. Since the start of university I have gone through calculus and onto linear algebra and differential equations. I have much experience in tutoring friends in these subjects due to the fact that they are prerequisites for many classes.
