Fun Facts
At the moment, school takes up most of my time. You can see me running around on campus all day because not only do I attend my classes, but I have extracurricular activities I am dedicated to too. I am on the cheerleading team at UIC. I am also a part of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority on campus as well. Outside of school, I work part-time as a CNA. This means I am very bubbly and outgoing. With my positive mind, I am able to get through my days by doing the activities I love.
About Me
I am a sophomore pre-nursing student at the chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago. I made the Dean's List this past spring and am determined to make it on the Dean's list this following year. I am a part of the Honors College as well because I strive for excellence when it comes to school. In the future, I am hoping to obtain my Bachelor's or even Master's degrees in nursing to pursue my goal as a neonatal nurse.
Experience
I am equipped with the knowledge to approach chicago">tutoring at all angles. In high school, the National Honors Society provided me the opportunities to work with elementary students. As a CNA, I am given the opportunity daily to teach the elderly how to perform ADLs. However, the most experience comes from being a student myself. In my AP classes and study groups I participated in, we all helped and taught each other. This resonated to college, and now Frog chicago">Tutoring is allowing me to help more people.
Approach
I was not born a genius. Learning had to become second nature because school was a struggle for me. I had to find fun and creative tactics to retain the knowledge that was given to me in the classroom. As a chicago">tutor, I want to bring a positive energy to my sessions because you are your environment. My goal is not only to teach and aid my students, but also to have them take away study skills they can use in their future endeavors. I believe in the power of a smile. College Algebra Tutoring
I have taken algebra and pre-calc courses in high school. My senior year I took and passed the AP Statistics exam. I also currently took a general math course this past summer semester in which I achieved an A.Math has always been a strong subject for me. I am very able to to tutor a subject that has always been second nature.

I am very fond of Sociology. I took a course my sophomore year in high school and managed an A. This past summer semester, I took a Sociology 100 course and I passed with an A as well. Sociology comes very easy to me and when students have questions, I am able to answer in great detail because I am interested in this subject so much.

Chemistry Tutoring
I took Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry in high school. In college, I took Chem 112 and Chem 130. My average grade was a B throughout my chemistry experience. Nursing majors need a strong base of chemistry because we deal with chemicals and their reactions in patients. Therefore, I am able to teach students who need to strengthen their chemistry skills.

Study Skills Tutoring
I have to develop my own ways to retain knowledge beyond the classroom. Sitting in lectures are often boring, therefore, it is your responsibility to learn the material in another way. I have made planners, schedules, notecards, etc to help me study. I even use the book with interactive models to understand materials in more depth. As a tutor, I can pass the study skills I have learned to help create the success of my students.

Homework Coach Tutoring
No one really enjoys homework, but it proves that practice makes perfect. As a tutor, I want to aid students in their studies. I want to make it a positive experience for them by helping them to their answers and not just giving it to them. The more they learn, the more independent they will be in their problem solving skills. I am their to encourage them to be successful.
