Fun Facts

My biggest passion is learning (and speaking) languages! I know or am learning 6 languages- besides English, of course: French, Urdu, Arabic, German, Tajik Persian, and Bosnian. I was born and raised in Texas and I love it here, though I also love to travel. I've studied in Tajikistan and Bosnia and I plan on studying in Germany in the spring!

About Me

I took a year off after high school to do an intensive Arabic program so I'm only entering my second year of college at UTD now. I'm majoring in International Political Economy and minoring in Public Affairs. During my first year of college, I worked as an AVID dallas">tutor and I interned at the International Rescue Committee.

Experience

Throughout high school, I tutored many people: my classmates, middle schoolers, and family friends' kids (ages 7-11). During my gap year, I tutored my classmates, as well. Last year, during college, I worked as an AVID dallas">tutor at Haggard Middle School in Plano, dallas">tutoring 7-8th graders.

Approach

Growing up, studying didn't come easy to me. Fortunately, I was able to figure out what worked. I've had a lot of experience dallas">tutoring others and it has taught me a lot. Most importantly, I've learned that the process is what teaches you a concept, not the answer. No matter what subject, if I can actively practice the process of solving the problem, I'll be able to grasp the concept.
