About Me

I graduated Cum laude from houston">the houston">University of Houston Downtown in May 2015. My journey for a new career started after I was diagnosed Breast Cancer in 2011. Now as a 3 year survivor, I have decided to pursue my passion in the Spanish Language. As a native Spanish speaker, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of my mother tongue to those who are equally as passionate to learn it. As an English houston">tutor, I look forward to helping ESL students develop language skills for everyday use. I am eager to meet each of you and help you on your journey to discovering new possibilities through language.

Experience

I am currently a member of the Houston Interpreters and Translators Association, Sigma Delta Pi which is a Spanish honor society, and National Society of Leadership and Success. I am currently houston">tutoring high school students, teaching ESL to adults, and volunteering at our local Girl Scout office.

Approach

As a houston">tutor, I like to get to know my students before deciding on a course of study action. Each person learns and studies differently. I feel that enhancing those learning and study modes will assist the student in reaching a successful goal.

Spanish I Tutoring

My degree is for a Bachelors in Spanish. I've enrolled and successfully completed courses for native speakers up to professional translation and interpretation courses.
As a native Spanish speaker, one of the most important aspects of learning Spanish was to speak it correctly. As I began to study the many layers of my mother language, I discovered where my true passion lies...the language and customs that are a part of me. I am a passionate person who loves to help others learn another language so that they can experience the beauty of Spanish.

Spanish II Tutoring

Although Spanish II can be difficult at times, I feel that this is the most interesting level. There are so many new things to learn. I can help you learn appropriate vocabulary, grammar syntax and as well as conjugations.

English Tutoring

I am a recent UHD grad with a minor in Communication Studies. I believe I can assist with English research papers as well as developing the learners verbal skills. English has complex words that we use everyday and in every situation to share our feelings, ideas and thoughts. It is very important to master this subject.

Homework Coach Tutoring

There are several ways each person learns. I like to learn what my students studying habits are then make modifications to ensure the best time management and efficient learning atmosphere.

Spanish Tutoring

As a recent The University of Houston Downtown grad with a major in Spanish, I am very passionate about the beginning level. Beginning Spanish is the foundation of the other levels. At this level, you will learn the basics. I will assist with pronunciation, vocabulary and foundational materials based off of homework.

Study Skills Tutoring

Studying skills are extremely important. Time management and appropriate study techniques can help a student be successful. It is my goal to ensure that study skills are tailored to the students style of learning.

Elementary Math Tutoring

Math is extremely important and essential tool in everyday life. There are several ways a student can learn how to add, subtract, multiply and divide (among other functions). I will incorporate skills that will help the student feel confident and successful.
