Fun Facts
I enjoy teaching others about engineering and get excited when younger generations become interested. Over the summer I volunteered for the GEMS program which is designed to encourage young girls to pursue a career in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) fields. I interned at DN Tanks for six months as an Estimating Engineer and I am also part of the Steel Bridge team at my university. I am also a big fan of art and love drawing.
About Me
I am a junior Civil Engineering major at the University of Texas at Arlington. I plan to obtain my Master's in Structural Engineering at the same institution after I graduate. My plan is to finish both my Master's and Bachelor's degree in five years and begin practicing at an engineering firm.
Experience
As a member of National English Honor Society in high school, I had a chance to tutor students in all subject areas during my junior year. Entering college I joined the American Society of Civil Engineers and tutored students in my major.
Approach
Coming from a rural area I understand the lack of inadequate educational resources. As a tutor, I understand that all students are different and have various ways of learning, I try to adapt to everyone's learning style. I feel as though it is my responsibility to help all students have a good foundation of any subject they struggle with.

Civil Engineering
AutoCAD Tutoring
I worked with AutoCAD in high school and took a two hour AutoCAD course at my university. I interned as an Estimating Engineer at DN Tanks for six months and most of my work involved using AutoCAD. I feel like I have a good foundation of how the program works.
Calculus I Tutoring
I took Calculus in high school and at the university and received a B for the course. I feel as though I have a thorough understanding of calculus since I use it in my engineering courses. I have taken other advance math course which have helped me to get a better understanding of calculus.
Calculus 2 Tutoring
As an engineering student I am constantly using math in my core courses. I received a B in my calculus II course but have a better understanding of this course because of the upper math courses I have taken. I love math and it has always come easy to me.
Calculus 3 Tutoring
I took a 5 week calculus III summer course and loved it. I enjoy math and teaching it to others comes easy. I received a B for the course but have taken other advanced math course which have helped me to understand the origin of the certain formulas used in calculus.
College Algebra Tutoring
I received a B in college algebra and understand that algebra is the foundation for more advance math courses. I have used algebra in most of my engineering classes and believe I have a good foundation. Math is a subject which has always come easy to me and therefore am able to teach it to anyone.
Elementary Statistics Tutoring
As a high school student I took AP statistics and scored a 4 on the AP exam. I helped most of my classmate with the subject and organized several study groups for test. I have also taken an engineering statistics course which I received a B.
Physics I Tutoring
I took AP physics in high school and received an A in my physics for engineers course at the university. In my engineering course work I use physics concept and apply them to real world problems.
Physics II Tutoring
I received an A for my physics II course and closely collaborated with others students to establish the ideas presented in the course. I enjoyed this class therefore learning of the material was easy.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I have taken 4 advanced math courses at the university and therefore feel as though I have a good grasp of calculus. I have taken calculus I, II, II and differential equations and linear algebra.
Algebra Tutoring
I received an A at my high school and understand the struggles student have with math. I often had to tutor most of my peers over the subject.
Algebra II Tutoring
As an engineering major math came easy to me and therefore often tutored others in math. I received an A for this class and have taken many upper level course which have helped me to understand the background of algebraic formulas.
AP Chemistry Tutoring
As a high school student, I took AP Chemistry and the AP exam for this course. I understand what the AP exam requires students to know and the format of the exam. I have also taken Chemistry I and II at the university level.
AP History Tutoring
As a high school student, I took all of the AP classes offered at my high school. I have also taken history at my university and received a B for the course.
Spanish I Tutoring
Coming from a hispanic family, I understand the culture and language farily well. I took Spanish I, II, II and literature in high school and have a good foundation of spanish. I received A in all of the course work.
Trigonometry Tutoring
As a a civil engineering student, I have had my fair share of trigonometry problems. Math comes easy to me and can help any student understand it.
