Fun Facts
I grew up figure skating in the Sunshine state and when I was not on the ice, you would find me baking cakes! I have a passion for fashion, working out, and eating. My favorite exercises are spinning and Pilates and one of my favorite foods are Brussels sprouts. I have a younger brother and two dogs named Mocha and Latte (I am a huge coffee fan!). I have also studied in Barcelona and traveled to over 12 countries.
About Me
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where I earned a double major in Applied Learning and Development and Communication Studies. I am certified in Early childhood-6th Grade ESL and trained in Orton-Gillingham (a program developed for students with dyslexia). In college, I participated in several honor societies and received many academic awards. I have been houston">tutoring for several years as well as taught as lead teacher for 5th grade and currently am a lead teacher for 3rd grade.
Experience
Throughout high school I voluntarily tutored underprivileged students between 1st-4th grade. As I moved onto college I volunteered for VICTORY houston">Tutoring and worked for College Nannies and houston">Tutors as a houston">tutor and office coordinator. I also have teaching experience with Pre-K, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. I teach to help students improve their strengths, achieve their goals, and make learning fun.
Approach
Positivity, Patience, Persistence. I approach everything with the 3P's. It is key to have a positive outlook, to be paitent because learning happens over time, and to constantly practice. Everyone learns differently and it is essential to find different methods to approach material and make the subject engaging and applicable to life.

Writing Advance Tutoring
From American to World literature, I have read several of the books on the high school curriculum as well as crafted writing responses. I enjoy writing poetry and have taken classes on how to teach English and reading in college. I also took AP Literature and Language in high school, Rhetoric of Fashion in college, and World Literature in college. I also edit many of my peers papers and have helped high school students write papers for college applications.
Spanish II Tutoring
I have studied Spanish for 9 years and also studied in Barcelona, Spain this past Spring. I enjoy teaching Spanish grammar as well as helping students start formulating sentences or paragraphs in Spanish. Further, I use various tactics to help remember vocabulary terms that do not involve straight memorization.
English Tutoring

I have taken several courses and currently taking another in how to teach math to elementary students covering all TEKS material and basic concepts. These courses further prepare me to adjust teaching methods for students that learn math differently. I have also previously tutored math to students between 2nd and 4th grade.
Science Tutoring
I have taken Hands-on-Science courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and astronomy. These courses prepare future teachers to develop lesson plans and present them to students in elementary classes. I have also previously tutored middle and high school chemistry and biology.
