About Me
My name is Gary Evans. My full name is Garreth James O'Callaghan Evans, but I shortened it because many people have trouble pronouncing Garreth. I recently graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While at the University I studied English and Philosophy. However, as I was completing my last semester I became very interested in Biology. By the summer after my graduation I had an inkling that I should pursue math and science. I returned to school, at the community college level (San Antonio College), to begin taking classes. I have taken a number of math and science classes and I usually take a class each semester to expand my knowledge in those subjects.
I have tutored in a number of different settings and worked a variety of jobs since I graduated from College. This was all in hope of finding something that I both enjoy doing and feel that sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. My first job after college was tutoring English at the college level. I worked this job until I started a full time job as an assistant Golf Pro. I enjoyed working at the golf course, but I still had a strong desire to teach/tutor. After about a year, I returned to tutoring as a Math & Reading/writing tutor at Sylvan learning center. I am currently taking the knowledge I've gleaned from those past experiences and am trying to get certified to teach at a public school in San Antonio.

I feel that if they attempt to answer a problem that they are unsure about, it will lead to a better understanding in the long term. Whether right or wrong, the initial attempt will get a child into the slight bit
