Fun Facts
I play the French Horn and I'm trying to learn the guitar by self study. I love music but don't pay attention to the artists that I'm listening to. I used to do gymnastics, and while most of that talent has faded with time, I can still whip out a flip or two. I'm from the Pacific Northwest and I miss hiking the mountains over that way, but I like to find a nice bit of nature in the city whenever I can.
About Me
I'm a physics PhD candidate at the Illinois Institute of Technology. I'm pursuing research via the Adler Planetarium and I've recently joined the LSST collaboration. I'm fascinated by the universe and I'm working to understand it a bit better.
Experience
At westminster-college">Westminster College in Pennsylvania, during my undergraduate, I worked as a TA for the Physics I and Physics II classes which entailed grading homework and lab reports, as well as working with students directly when they needed assistance. In my time at Illinois Institute of Technology, I have worked as a chicago">tutor in the Academic Resources Center and as a TA for Physics I where I led labs and recitations, worked with students, and graded the coursework.
Approach
As a chicago">tutor I emphasize helping the student utilize their resources, developing good study habits, and working through problems step-by-step. Every student has their own unique experience and their own educational stumbles every now and again. I work to understand where these stumbles happen and how to work past them.
