Fun Facts
I love shopping and having dinner with my friends. I am also a drone hobbyist. I fly a quadrotor weekly near my lab UC Berkeley. Lastly, I am good at fixing computers, so ask me for help if something goes wrong in your computer.
About Me
I am currently a PhD student studying in the Civil Systems program at UC Berkeley. My main focus in on autonomous control. I started my college at Laney college, then I transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Architectural Engineering. However, I learned about autonomous control at UC Berkeley and got very interested in it when working on my master. My goal is to become a control engineer.
Experience
I had my first tutoring experience in the Math Lab at Laney College. I tutored students from elementary algebra to differential equations. In this process, I improved my communication skill a lot. And more importantly, I learned how to teach. Then, I was selected to be a Science Workshop Facilitator, or science TA, at Cal Poly. At UC Berkeley, I worked as a physics and engineering GSI for one year. With all the teaching experience I had, I am confident to teach all types of students.
Approach
Everybody has great potential in learning, as long as we can give appropriate guidance. When I start tutoring, I first ask students some basic questions to assess their level of understanding, instead of giving them a standard explanation. Then, I will guide them step by step to solve the problem. I encourage students to think independently. Moreover, I give them positively feedback to encourage them to help them improve.
