Fun Facts
My FAVORITE pastimes when I am not working are: traveling, trying new recipes, and running. Every summer, I take six students abroad for a week to a country of their choice. I love all types of music, and I am currently teaching myself how to play the guitar. I do not have to use an alarm clock to wake me up in the mornings, because I have two dogs, a Chug and a Yorkie Poo, who wake me up at the same time everyday. I LOVE learning different languages. About Me
Upon graduating from boston-college">Boston College, with honors as a McNair Scholar, I joined Teach for America, teaching middle school English in Los Angeles for four years. At both Markham Middle School and ICEF Vista Middle Academy, I helped improve school-wide instruction by designing curriculum, creating intervention programs, and leading professional developments. Recently, I graduated from the Coro Fellows Program in Los Angeles, a nine-month postgraduate fellowship in public affairs. As a Coro Fellow, I ameliorated my leadership and problem-solving skills through completions of rigorous projects and internships in the nonprofit, government, business, labor, political campaign, and communication sectors. In the future, I hope to work in education media, producing education television programming for kids.
When I was teacher, I developed an after school tutoring program on my campus called Study Buddies. It provided students with the chance to learn and relearn concepts covered in class. I loved seeing how happy students were when they understood and mastered a learning objective. Thus, after graduating from the Coro program, I immediately searched for opportunities that would enable me to work with students on a one-on-one basis again. Luckily, I found Frog Tutoring!
Each student has a unique way of learning, whether they are auditory, visual, and/or tactile learners. I am excited to help students learn how to capitalize on the way they learn, and to help them improve in different subject areas. If you asked my students what I believe, they would say: "persistence and determination are omnipotent!" If you asked my students what I have taught them to believe, they would say: "I think I can, I know I can, I will!" Every child is capable of achieving academic success in all subjects, as long as they are given the academic tools they need to do so. During my tutoring sessions, I hope to help students determine the tools that will best help them meet their academic goals thro
