Fun Facts
I traveled to Spain twice and have played piano for 13 years. In college, I started a chapter of a national co-educational honor fraternity and served as its president, bringing in over 80 members. History is my passion and I wish to read and explore it for the rest of my life. However, George Washington, Elizabeth I, and Henry VIII will always be my favorite people of history.
About Me
I recently graduated summa cum laude from Saint Joseph’s University's Honors Program in Philadelphia. I majored in History with a double minor in Latin American Studies and Spanish. I plan to apply to history graduate programs in the fall to begin the journey towards earning a Ph.D. My ultimate goal is to teach American or European History at the college level so I can be both a teacher and a researcher during my career.
I have been manhattan">tutoring since the age of 15. I began manhattan">tutoring ESL (English as a Second Language) high school students in every subject. In college, I have tutored over 200 students in history and Spanish in both group and individual manhattan">tutoring sessions. I have also worked on a one-to-one basis with the professors and oversaw a team of 25 group manhattan">tutors.
In manhattan">tutoring sessions with my students, I first identify the student’s learning type and from there, I create lesson plans to incorporate his/her learning type with the material. I believe that a strong, positive manhattan">tutor/student relationship is crucial to the advancement of the student. A respectful, accepting, and encouraging environment can further the student’s progress. Also, practice makes perfect.
