Fun Facts

Some interesting facts about me: I can speak 4 languages ( English, German, French, Arabic). I am a bike enthusiast and ride by bike all around our wonderful little dusty city. I am workoutaholic. I exercise every single day, and typically run 5 miles every day. I am also very into Yoga, and I practice every day. I love music and I can play 3 instruments, however I am not as successful at music as I am languages. I am also a big film-buff and enjoy watching movies with my friends.

About Me

Bonjour,
My name is Sarah. I am currently a student at the University of Arizona, and I am double majoring and minoring. My majors are German studies and French and my minors are Arabic and Linguistics. I have a love for foreign languages and I am extremely passionate about language acquisition. I believe there are wonderful benefits in understanding a second language and also a lot of fun opportunities.
Recently I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Leipzig Germany where I studied at the Universität Leipzig. It was a wonderful experience where I learned a great deal not only about the German language, but language acquisition as a whole. My tucson">tutoring experience has been in tucson">tutoring German and French and English to other fellow college students, but I would love to help all types of students.
My tucson">tutoring technique is to help the student teach themselves. Language is something very personal and unique and the most effective way to learn language is to actually use it. I work with the students to see how they learn best and create activities based upon how the student best retains concepts. It is important that learning a foreign language is fun because then the student is more willing to retain new vocabulary and new grammar concepts when they are actively using them.
