About Me
I am a Biology major and Chemistry minor at Queens college. I study pre-med in hopes of becoming a orthopedics surgeon.I am aiming to attend NAVY medical school, to be taught science as well as discipline.
I have been tutoring for about 5 years now. The past year I worked as an in class tutor in a middle school and substitute math teacher for a common core Algebra regents prep class. I have received awards for my work and dedication as a mentor in the Queens College big buddy program.
Experience
I have tutored for years, with students as young as 10 and college adult students. I usually tutor math; algebra, pre algebra, elementary math, pre calculus, etc. Occasionally I have tutored chemistry or science but I prefer math. I have successfully helped students pass state tests. My previous jib I worked in a classroom with middle school students and was told by that teacher I should pursue teaching. I recently taught a high school summer math class for common core algebra.
Approach
I teach children the way I prefer to learn, with patience. My success can be credited to my patience. I am unwilling to move on to the next topic until I can guarantee my student understood the current one. I am a fan of repeating myself because I prefer to drill the work into their heads. I usually give them a test in the first session so I can see what they know or don't know and be able to plan my lessons around that.

College Algebra Tutoring

Pre Calculus Tutoring
I have taught this class a few times. It is not that much different from trigonometry and I have done well in this course on several occasions. This course is simply upper level Algebra which I am very capable of teaching

Trigonometry is similar to all of my courses listed above and is another course i have taught and taken successfully

Algebra II Tutoring
I have taught Algebra on several levels, including college, I believe my experience with teaching this course with different methods and age groups makes me qualified to teach it. This course is essentially Trigonometry and as stated above in my college qualifications, I am very capable of teaching this course.
Math Tutoring
I have tutored math for over 5 years so I am capable of teaching it. I have aided several people with many varieties of math, including Geometry though I prefer to not teach it.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I have taught Algebra on several levels, including college. I think I am capable of preparing students to take Algebra because I am aware of the qualifications and knowledge necessary for them to get to that level.
Middle School Math Tutoring
I recently worked in a middle school as an in class tutor so I know how to work with these kids. I taught math to kids in grade 5-8 where I dealt with several kids simultaneously and occasionally one child, so I understand how to teach kids this age and how they learn.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I recently worked in a Elementary/Middle school so I understand the qualifications and knowledge these kids need. I was able to rate proper techniques and methods to help younger kids with short attention spans and my knowledge of math both upper and lower levels, makes me qualified to teach this subject
Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring
I have used this program for over 10 years so I am very adept at using and helping others with this. I am still using Powerpoint, so I believe I am ale to teach it.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
As a college level student I am forced to have expertise in Microsoft Office programs, especially word, I use this program several times a week sometimes for fun, other times to study and organize my life.
