Fun Facts
I am an avid reader of fantasy novels and fan fiction like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. On a completely different note, I am a registered Emergency Medical Technician. I look a bit different every season because I have my hair cut only once a year so that I can donate it to charity.
About Me
I am a junior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a collage outside albany">Albany, New York. RPI is very focused on engineering, math, and science. I am a physics major, and also on the pre-medical track. I chose to focus on physics in collage because I truly enjoy discussing and learning about reality, and what we can deduce about the natural world. I am pre-medical because it is my lifelong ambition to become a doctor, and I plan on going to medical school after collage.
In early high school, I had serious academic problems because of a serious lack of interest in literally all my classes. Then in junior year I discovered physics, and I was so enthralled that I spent the next year figuring out how to learn everything. I have been obsessed with the sciences ever since. In recent years, I have done extremely well in my classes, and my friends and classmates often look to me for advice and assistance. This has created a series of informal, often one on one, review sessions and discussion groups where I direct the studying and homework of my class mates towards areas of interest and need.
The goal of a boston">tutor, in my mind, is to teach students how to learn - how to go on without need for a boston">tutor. The strategies for this are as varied as the students. One important strategy to always employ is to engage the student by relating the subject matter to his or her interests. I try to use information about the student's strength's and weaknesses gathered over time to create a customized study strategy that can be employed by the student in the future without further assistance from a boston">tutor.
