Fun Facts

I love to share my passion for the Spanish language and culture. I was born in Cuba and have spoken Spanish my entire life. I was fortunate to be able to spend a summer and a semester abroad in Spain during my college career where I studied at the Universities of Seville and Salamanca.

I have lived in numerous states across the country with my family and also lived in Canada for three years. I love to get to know people from all different walks of life and am very open to learning more about each of them.

I am very active in Special Olympics, an organization for which I currently coach bowling, basketball and track & field. This is one of the most gratifying aspects of my life.

I love to sing, read, travel and spend time with my family and friends. I have sung in many choirs and for numerous weddings and have enjoyed participating in numerous musical theatre productions.

About Me

I have enjoyed teaching for the last twelve years and I currently hold a Master's Degree in Education. My undergraduate degrees were in Spanish and Communication Arts. Prior to teaching, I worked in International Sales and Marketing but have always utilized my Spanish expertise in all of the positions that I have held over the years.

As a full time Spanish and Advisory teacher for an online public charter school, I have the opportunity to work with students in Elementary, Middle School and High School who have varying learning abilities and learning styles. Prior to my position for this online school, I was fortunate to work in the capacity of Spanish teacher for both Middle School and High School. Both of these positions have allowed me to work closely with colleagues and the parents and Learning Coaches of my students. It is my hope that through my position as a tucson">tutor for Frog tucson">Tutoring, that I am able to impact the learning and the lives of even more students in need of educational assistance.

I believe that teaching should be a cooperative effort between the student's school teacher, tucson">tutor and Learning Coach at home. As a student, I was fortunate to have teachers who saw my potential and pushed me to do my very best. I believe that it is my mission as a teacher to do the same for my students. Finding my students' learning styles and implementing different strategies to achieve their success is my ultimate goal as an educator.
