Fun Facts

I'm a history nerd; I love reading and continuously learning about all historical events. Two of my favorite things to do (other than reading) are watch hockey and go to theatre. They may seem like polar opposites but when you think about it, they're actually quite similar.

About Me

Currently a senior at Hunter College, earning a double BA in English and Media Studies. I hold a 3.8 GPA and have been on the Dean's List for several times. I want to work in media broadcast, not sure yet in what capacity but definitely in that field. My concentration is in Media Analysis & Criticism which looks at the media being consumed and trying to find trends,why those exist, and where we can change it for the betterment.

Experience

In high school, I tutored several elementary school kids in all different subjects. I haven't had as much time lately due to a full-time job and full-time school schedule. However, when I babysit, I usually help the kids with homework and I have several nieces and nephews whom I've worked with on their English, science, and history homework. I really am interested in tutoring again, helping students hone certain skills and not be overwhelmed with subjects that don't come easily to them.

Approach

I tend to gravitate towards the arts so math & science aren't my strong points. However, I am lucky to have several people in my life over the years who have been patient and walked through every step with me, as often as needed. I've taken that with me; part of my current job is to train in new employees, and I've earned that by utilizing patience and understanding with assurance that it's okay to not get it on the first try. Just don't give up and have faith in yourself.
