Fun Facts

One passion I have is that I love the travel. I have travel to many places around the world mostly to countries in Europe, Mexico and Canada, but when it came to where I wanted to pursue my education I have never chosen a place outside of Texas. As such, even though I love to travel and visit new place it seems I simply can not imagine myself living anywhere except for Texas.

About Me

I am a new student who is currently working on his PhD in field of mathematics at Texas Christian University. I have recently graduated Baylor University with a double major in Mathematics and Chemistry. My ultimate goal is to become an academic in the area of mathematics.

Experience

I began tutoring during High School where I tutored students to a point where they could compete in math and science competitions. During my sophomore year of college I began working in Mathlab, a position usually given to graduate students, here I would assist students with problems in any area of math. Then my junior and senior years I became a supplemental instructor for calculus 2, and pre-cal respectively. Now as a graduate student I work the MathClinic, and am expected teach next year.

Approach

I believe attitude is a huge part of learning. As even though I have struggled with many classes I never doubted my ability to learn a concept eventually. If a person is not confident in their ability to learn, they will have difficult time excelling when necessary. As a tutor, I attempt to increase the confidence of my students by teaching them how to try to think more independently.

Calculus I Tutoring

I am pursuing a PHD in mathematics. I have taken calculus, calculus 2, calculus 3, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and have gotten A's on all of them. I have also taken a real analysis, advance calculus 1, and advance calculus 2. I am now taking functional analysis. These later classes are in depth uses of calculus, such as the proofs of the formulas and techniques used in calculus and generalizations of techniques used. As such, I believe I am well versed in the subject material and know the subject inside out as it is the area of the research I was pursuing. I also believe knowing it this in depth will allow me to better understand the fundamental problem the student is having in the area and it has been shown when I have tutored this area in the math clinic.

Calculus 2 Tutoring

I am pursuing a PHD in mathematics. I have taken calculus, calculus 2, calculus 3, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and have gotten A's on all of them. I have also taken a real analysis, advance calculus 1, and advance calculus 2, while taking functional analysis as of now these classes are in depth uses of calculus the proofs of the formulas and techniques of calculus and generalizations of techniques used. This in-depth view of calculus allows me to identify where the student is having trouble in. I have also specifically been a supplemental instructor in this area as such I have experience tutoring this area more specifically then instead of just as a math clinic tutor.

Calculus 3 Tutoring

I am pursuing a PHD in mathematics. I have taken calculus, calculus 2, calculus 3, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and have gotten A's. I have also taken a real analysis, advance calculus 1, and advance calculus 2, while taking functional analysis as of now these classes are in depth uses of calculus the proofs of the formulas and techniques of calculus and generalizations of techniques used. As such, I believe I am well versed in the subject material even at multi variable placement and know the subject inside out as it is the area of the research I was pursuing originally. I also believe knowing it this in depth will allow me to better understand the fundamental problem the student is having in the area.

Chemistry I Tutoring

I can tutor chemistry for the following reasons: I have gotten my degree in chemistry. I have also taken chemistry 1 with a grade of an A, chemistry 2 with a grade of an A.
