Fun Facts
I am a huge sports fan, and I enjoy both watching and playing sports. In my free time, I am usually either studying, reading for pleasure, or exploring the DC area. I have two younger sisters, and I am from Memphis, Tennessee!
About Me
I am a junior Biology major at Howard University in Washington, DC. I have a 3.6 GPA and plan on attending medical school upon graduating in 2017. My ultimate goals are to become an orthopedic surgeon and practice in under served communities across the country.
Experience
As a member of Strive For College Mentoring Program, I gained valuable experience in working with students to maximize their college application process. Although this program was not tutoring necessarily, I believe that the skills and tools that I developed through 1 on 1 sessions with the high school students gave me a significant foundation that can be translated directly to this tutoring program. Additionally, I have two younger sisters back in my hometown who I tutor often.
Approach
I see tutoring as an extension of the classroom, supplementing the material learned to allow for a better grasp of the information. As a tutor, I strive to guide students step by step through a problem, rather than simply giving them the answer. Additionally, I hope to help develop the students study skills and habits, so that they can use these skills throughout their educational career.

Biology Tutoring
I took AP Biology in high school and received a B+. I am now a junior Honors Biology student at Howard University. and I have maintained a 3.6 GPA throughout.

I took various accelerated and AP English classes in high school, including AP English Language and Composition (4 on AP exam).
Homework Coach Tutoring
Over the course of my educational career I have developed numerous study skills that have aided me immensely. I often look back and wish that I could have utilized these various skills earlier in my schooling, and I would love the opportunity to impart some of the information that I know to students.
