Fun Facts
I am originally from Lebanon, born in Manhattan and lived overseas in Doha, Qatar for half my life. I have one younger brother who is a sports fanatic. I also have many little cousins who I have babysat; we've done activities like paint, read and watch movies. I love films and t.v shows. Growing up i watched I love Lucy and Three Stooges. I also love watching the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon every night! I recently sparked an interest in acting so I hope to explore that more this year!
About Me
I am a senior at New York University majoring in Visual Culture/Communications. This major is in Steinhardt, which is the school of Culture, Education and Human Development. I have taken classes in film, photography, business, philosophy, society and culture. I still don't know my exact career path but I hope to further explore all my interests this year. Furthermore, my liberal art education has provided me with a strong foundation in many subjects that I believe everyone can benefit from.
Experience
I've always helped my younger brother in areas like writing and public speaking from elementary to highschool. During my time in high school I was part of a club called "Building Blocks" where students were assigned to assist elementary teachers in their classrooms. I worked in a 2nd grade class and helped in arts and crafts, writing and reading. Additionally, I've interned/worked in events, photography, film, art, and community service; which has improved and added to my communication skills.
Approach
I've always enjoyed helping others in their areas of interest, especially if it regards a subject I know and enjoy. Growing up I always had help when I needed it, so now I would love to give back to the community by helping in ways that I can. As kids, teenagers and adults, we never stop learning and this is why I am interested in tutoring. Teaching the skills I have gained and learned and also working with others is a pleasure on my part.

Arts Tutoring
Growing up I took private painting lessons and I've always had an artistic eye. In high school I was very involved in photography and creating art exhibitions/auctions of my art pieces. In college I've taken a studio photography class which I received an A for and I've also taken many classes regarding visual culture (film, art history, photography); all of which I performed very well in. In my leisure time, I love to paint pottery, take photographs and paint at home.
French Tutoring
From Kindergarten to 1st grade I attended the Lycée Francais de New York where I learned french. When I moved overseas to Doha, Qatar I attended an American School but continued my french with tutors, classes at school and at home with my mother. Although not extremely proficient in french grammar, I love to read and speak french and I am pretty fluent in those areas.
Homework Coach Tutoring
Doing your homework can be a little tedious sometimes, but I figured with the right attitude it can be done in a timely and organized matter. I taught myself to enjoy doing my homework rather than mope about doing it, which benefitted me greatly. I would love to pass on this mindset and teach other students how to finish their homework on time and how to get it all done without over stressing. I always helped my younger brother with his homework and taught him how to be organized.
Study Skills Tutoring
In high school and college I had many tests in many subjects, sometimes all in the same week. Thus, I had to figure out how to study for all of these at the same time and do well in all of them. This can get a little tricky if you're not organized. Every subject requires a different way to study. For example, in college I took an Art History course; this required a lot of notecards and pictures, memorizing, and time. If you understand your subject, you'll know how to study for it in a more proficient way. Based on my experience, I am able to teach my study skills that have worked and still work for me throughout my academic career.
Writing Tutoring
In Highschool I took AP Language and AP Literature where I learned how to read more comprehensively and analytically and write on a creative level. I took a writing class freshman of college year and since then all my classes have required writing essays. Every time I learn more about myself and about my subjects. Writing is extremely important; as I am a major in Visual culture and communications, I understand writing as a communication form and what it requires in order to get your message across; flow and clarity.
