Fun Facts
One of my favorite hobbies is cooking! I love to look up recipes in my free time and try them out. I also love putting my own twist on popular recipes. I eventually would like to go to culinary school to learn more about the science and special techniques of cooking. I also love to sing! Although I am not the best at it, it is not unusual to hear me humming a tune every time all of the time! Recently while taking a ceramics class I have a newfound love for making pottery!
About Me
I am a senior Chemistry major at Howard University. I have been a Howard University Legacy scholar for four years. I have been a student ambassador, a member of a prestigious business fraternity, and I am currently the president of the organization Christian Sisters United. I hope to attend medical school to become a Primary Care Physician to bring healthcare to underserved communities.
Experience
Over the last year I have had the opportunity to work as a student teacher at a high school in Washington DC teaching an advance science curriculum for the organization Science Pathfinders. I have tutored students in Chemistry on campus. I have also helped elementary students practice reading while working as a summer daycare provider.
Approach
As a current college student I have learned that the best way to become successful at anything is to enjoy it. As a student it is not enough to be intelligent but it takes having a genuine love for learning. As a tutor, I will not only teach my students the subject but create a sense of enjoyment for learning the material. Students are often limited by their opinion of how "smart" they are but I want to teach my students that simple curiosity is the key to success!
