Since I have no siblings, I value every opportunity to spend time with kids. I also love music and traveling. Growing up playing various Western and Eastern instruments, music has cultivated a global mindset in me which I developed further through traveling.

About Me

I am a native Chinese speaker born in China and grown up in Vancouver, Canada. I am currently attending New York University as a senior in Media, Culture, and Communication with a minor in Business of Media, Entertainment, and Technology. I studied abroad in Paris to broaden my scope of knowledge, both linguistically and culturally. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the cultural communications between Asian and Western culture.

Experience

As part of the America Reads/Counts program, I tutored at two public elementary schools in Manhattan for two years. While in the ESL (English as Second Language) class, I helped new immigrant children with learning English and understanding Math questions in English. While teaching other grades, I was able to help native students read and write in English as well as solving Math problems. Working for Frog Tutoring would give me the opportunity to further my interest in teaching either group.

Approach

Growing up as a bilingual speaker, I not only have the fluidity to think in different cultural contexts, but I am also good at articulating efficient approaches to language learning from my own experience of studying two more languages on top. For instance, I have learned Korean from Chinese and French from English since the grammar structures are similar between the two. Also I have developed effective methods while preparing students for national math competitions as the president of Math Club
