I have a tremendous passion for songwriting. I have been writing music since I was very young and soon hope to find success as a professional songwriter.
About Me
I am a senior at the University of the District of Colombia with major in Jazz Studies and English. I have been on the Dean's list for 3 years and when I graduate, I hope to pursue a career as a songwriter and music journalist.
Experience
Since 2008, I have had experience teaching piano to students between the ages of 7-23 on a weekly basis. I have also been serving as a journalism intern for two separate radio and music organizations in the Metropolitan area. I hope to have many opportunities to help other students develop their innate skills now and in the future.
Approach
I believe that students not only need help developing skills but also they need to be able to identify why these skills may be useful to them in the future. Too often we are taught things in school without having any idea why they may be important to us as we enter into society. My approach with is to not only cover the fundamentals of the topic, but also to find encouraging and helpful ways to implement the information in everyday life.

Piano Tutoring
I began classical training at age 6 and graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Instrumental Piano Music. I am completing my Associates degree in Jazz Studies which has allowed me to become proficient in basic theory and jazz theory. I have received A's and B's in my Applied Piano Major courses
Ear Training Tutoring
As a former student at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, I have been formally trained in theory and ear training and have continued my studies for my Associate's Degree at UDC. I have recieved A's in both Ear Training III and IV, which were my most recently completed courses
English Tutoring
Currently in pursuit of my Bachelor's degree in English, I have already acquired experience as a journalist for two radio and music organizations in the DC area. I have received A's in both Advanced Grammar and Creative Writing and I am now completing my second year in my degree. I have not yet had experience tutoring in this subject but my experience working as a journalist has allowed me plenty of opportunities to perfect my skills as a proofreader and editor.
