Fun Facts

I'm the oldest of six kids so that makes for quite an interesting mix of personalities in my household. On the one hand, I loved that I was able to forge my own identity as the family go-to person for writing and homework skills. On the other hand, I always had to chuckle when they were surprised to learn that I had a lot of other creative outlets (name performing and cheerleading).

About Me

My goals are to eventually be able to have a career that combines my love of teaching, writing, performance, and entrepreneurship. My goal is to one day run my own production company all the while teaching as well. And as an ardent student of anthropology, I'd love this work to take me around the world so that I can continue to interact and learn from cultures all over.

My past houston">tutoring experiences are vast and varied. I've taught in one-on-one and group sessions many subjects including middle school and high school level math and sciences as well as trained many students on numerous college prep exams, such as the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. One of my coolest experiences to date was serving as a Teacher's Assistant, Mentor, and Resident Adviser for three years for a high school program that prepared students who would go on to schools around the country, including Harvard, Georgetown, and Stanford.

Coming from such a big family, I recognized early on that people learn in very different ways and this is something that I take seriously when it comes to houston">tutoring. I have to adapt to the individual subject needs and learning abilities of the student so that they can be successful. Additionally, I also think that being able to relate to the student on a human level, and sharing fun stories especially ones about how I've triumphed over difficult subjects is imperative. I prefer being a houston">tutor and a mentor in that way rather than just being a teacher.
