Fun Facts
Some fun facts about me are I love making pottery, baking reading, hiking, and traveling. I am originally from Colorado and love the mountains and thinner air. Additionally I am the middle of five girls and am not ashamed to admit that I love the music of both 1D and Taylor Swifts 1989 Album.
About Me
I am a sophomore international studies major at Loyola University Chicago. I would like to focus my work on emergent regions of the world particularly Russia, Eastern Europe, Eurasia and the Indian Subcontinent. This has inspired me to begin studying Russian as my third language after Spanish and my native English. Additionally this summer I hope to add my fourth language of Hindi while studying in India.
Experience
As a member of the National Honor Society I was required to tutor students for at least forty hours each semester in all subject areas. Additionally throughout the years I have volunteered as a tutor working largely with elementary children. I believe that tutoring is an opportunity to enrich the lives of students and am excited to start being able to do so again.
Approach
As a tutor I attempt to be positive and engaging working to meet students where they're at rather than carrying out a one size fits all approach. Up until high school I found myself often frustrated with the way teachers taught until I met my senior year history teacher and found myself engaged and fascinated in ways I hadn't been before. I attempt to bring the qualities of this teacher to my tutoring and work to help students be as successful as possible.

Spanish I Tutoring
I have taken eight years of spanish including AP spanish my senior year of high school as well as through the 104 level at my university.
Spanish II Tutoring
I have eight years of experience studying spanish including three years of honors Spanish as well as AP Spanish my senior year of high school. Additionally after testing in I have also taken through 104 at my university.
Spanish III Tutoring
I have eight years of experience studying spanish including three years of honors Spanish as well as AP Spanish my senior year of high school. Additionally after testing in I have also taken through 104 at my university.
AP History Tutoring
I have taken both AP European and AP United States History, unfortunately AP World History was not offered at my school when I was taking world. I received a four on my AP US test and throughout my junior and senior year I tutored my fellow classmates particularly one student in particular going over key events and any problem areas she may have had.
English Tutoring
I took a year of honors english and two years of AP English in high school. During my senior year as a requirement of my membership in the National Honor Society I tutored my classmates in both english and history helping mainly with upper level English classes including American Lit, Honors Brit lit, and AP Lit.
History Tutoring
I have taken four years of honors and AP history courses. Additionally throughout my high school career I tutored my fellow classmates in history, particularly my junior and senior year when I worked one on one with a classmate in AP US and AP Euro.
Arts Tutoring
I have been making pottery for the past four years and am interested in possibly one day teaching ceramics part time.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have taken through AP Calculus AB, additionally, in high school I volunteered at an area elementary school as a math tutor and was in charge of a fourth grade math group.
