I am a very outgoing person that loves to compete in scholarship pageants. I have been competing in pageants for more than six years, Additionally, I am a classically trained opera singer that can sing in four languages.
About Me
I am a 24-year old Masters of Public Health candidate Morgan State University anticipating graduation in May of 2013. My primary focus is public health policy. I love to integrate and promote cross-cutting health policy for all to have access and achieve quality wellness and overall physical and mental health. In regard to my undergraduate career, I graduated from maryland/towson">towson-university">maryland/towson">Towson University with two Bachelors of Science in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics and General Biology concentrating in Comparative and Functional Anatomy of Animals. At maryland/towson">Towson, I was involved in many extracurricular activities such as the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society, Student Government Association, and the Pre-Medical Society. At the completion of my graduate training, I plan to move onward to pursue a medical degree concentrating in General Practice or Psychiatry.
Incorporating my various degrees, undergraduate and graduate, I aim to integrate my love for the sciences and health policy aspiring toward the Capitol Hill. In regard to my maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring style, I am a very proactive, organized, and relatable maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor and mentor. I focus on the ‘limited strengths’ of the student indicated by the parent, teacher, and student. In our maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring sessions, I frame weaknesses, as ‘limited strengths’. These are areas that may not be as strong, therefore, with maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring these areas will become stronger. Finally, the student becomes more confident as a learner.
As a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor, I integrate positive reinforcement techniques, repetition of particularly challenging concepts based on correspondence from the student’s teacher, and student and parent learning expectations and goals. Additionally, I hold myself and my student to a level of standard that propels excellence and scholarship. I firmly live by the fact, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”.
