Fun Facts
During my free time, I like to write short stories, songs, and poems that reflect who I am as a person, and what my aspirations for the future are. Another hobby of mine would be reading novels. I also like to travel, cook, and chat with my friends over the internet, or the phone. During the summer, I like to take a walk in the park to breathe the fresh, and outdoor air.
About Me
I am a current student at New York City College of Technology pursuing her bachelor's degree in Nursing. After graduation, I would like to work as a psychiatric nurse, and go to graduate school. My ultimate goal is to be an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse), and work as a mental health professor. My pleasant, positive, and dynamic attitude makes it easy to build a rapport with my students. I am a very patient individual, and I always go above and beyond to ensure my students' success.
Experience
I have been working with first to fourth graders since 2012 to improve their skills in reading, writing, and math. I volunteer my time helping college students in various subjects. I tutored French at the college for two semesters (Fall 2010/Spring 2011). My passion for education comes from my father. He was a high school teacher. He not only instilled in me the importance of education, but also the importance of helping others in need. I am used to work with students with different backgrounds.
Approach
I am completely aware of differences in my students' learning pace, and styles. Some are visual learners; others master a topic by listening. Some are fast learners, while it might take others quite some time to grasp a concept. Therefore, I address these differences, and attend to my students' specific needs. No matter how long it takes, I always take time to break down the contents to a student, and provide him with the necessary tools to understand a topic, or complete the task at hand.

Nursing
English Tutoring
I took English I & II during my freshman year in college. I received an "A" in both of them. I went on to take a Perspective of Literature course in my senior year. I also earned an "A" in that class.
French Tutoring
I have been speaking, talking, and writing French since I was a toddler. It is my native language. Throughout elementary and high school, I learned about grammar rules. I also studied french literature for three years in high school.
French I Tutoring
I tutored French during my whole sophomore year in college. I had the opportunity to work with students with different backgrounds. I helped them overcome their issues with the french language successfully.
French II Tutoring
In addition to being a native French speaker, and tutoring French for a year in college, I also took a French course in college in which I received an "A"
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have been tutoring reading comprehension to elementary school children, and my fellow college students since 2010. Reading has always been one of my passions. When I came to the United States in 2008, I had the opportunity to participate in a college program called CLIP (CUNY Language Immersion Program). My instructor taught me to be aware of what I understand; to identify what I do not understand; and to use appropriate learning strategies to resolve any issues I might have had while trying to interpret a text.
Spanish I Tutoring
I have always been fascinated by the spanish language since I started learning about it back in high school. The minimum grade I used to receive in my tests is 90%. I tutored my classmates all the time. I also took Spanish I & II in my sophomore year in college. I earned an "A" in both courses.
Writing Tutoring
I have taken several writing intensive courses in college. I also took English I, II, and Literature. Creative writing was part of these courses. I received an "A" in all of them. I have been tutoring both my college classmates, and elementary school students in writing since 2010.
AP English Tutoring
Even though english is my second language, I believe that the knowledge acquired in college throughout the years in this language qualifies me as an AP English tutor. I have also been tutoring English to elementary school children since 2012. I earned an "A" in all the english courses I took in college.
Writing Advance Tutoring
I have been tutoring writing to college students, and elementary students since 2010. I am also the one who tutors my cousin. She is an eleventh grader.
