Fun Facts

I am an crazy sports fan, in particular, I'm a baseball fan (A huge Phillies fan!). I love guitar music and play whenever I get a chance. I have a passion for science and hope to one day become a pediatrician. I really love kids and want to spend my career working with them. I used to proficiently play Tabla, an Indian drum. I have been to Kolkata, India 20 times! My family is from there, and is very important to me. Lastly, for any basketball fans, I am from Lower Merion high school, Kobe

About Me

I'm an undergraduate rising junior at Emory University, and am a neuroscience and behavioral biology major. I hope to go to medical school after I graduate, and hopefully one day become a successful pediatrician after that. I am very strong in the biological sciences, and really love most realms of science. I am also very strong with writing intensive courses, amongst other things.

For four summers before enrolling at Emory, I spent the summers working with kids in the slums of Kolkata, India during my summer visits to see family. This is where I gained lots of experience working with kids. I became infatuated with spending time and helping kids. Also, I was tutored in the Kumon program for a number of years when I was younger. This experience gave me some atlanta">tutoring tips. In addition, for the last two years at Emory, I have been a member of Emory Strong Kids. This group is focused with working with nearby elementary school kids working with nutrition, health, and exercise.

Because of my volunteering experiences and Emory Strong Kids experiences I have learned to work very well with kids. I think the focus should be on figuring out simple problems multiple ways. This develops a core grasp of whatever concept the student is struggling with. Repetition is essential. Then, figuring out how to do that same simple problem multiple ways is critical for solving more difficult problems. Practice makes perfect. When the student practices multiple ways to solve something and perfects these methods, they really start to excel. These are some of the core concepts embedded in me from my Kumon experience. By knowing multiple methods to solve a problem, one can figure out more complex problems, problems that the student may not have seen before (problems that tend to end up on exams and tests).
