I am a huge dog person and spend large amounts of time with my Goldendoodle Larry who is the love of my life. I also love practicing yoga and am a 200 hour level certified instructor.

About Me

I am a first year Masters Student at the University of Denver studying Literary Theory. I received my undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago in English Literature. I am hoping to pursue a career in teaching once I am finished with my Masters Degree.

Experience

As a Writing Fellow at the Writing Center of DePaul University. I was assigned to a specific course each semester and was then assigned a few students from each course. I would work with each student throughout the duration of the semester on various papers and assignments. We would meet one on one and I would ask them questions and assist them with all aspects of the writing process. I also met with the teacher of each course to find out exactly what they were looking for in the papers.

Approach

I've found through my own experience and my experiences tutoring that writing assignments and understanding the literature has a lot to do with confidence. Having someone assist you with your ideas and someone to brainstorm off of is very beneficial to the overall product of the assignment. Getting started with your work is sometimes the hardest part, and as a tutor, I like to be there to help students engage and develop their ideas through asking questions and just listening to them explain.
