Fun Facts
I love to snowboard. When I was 10, I lived with my family in Colorado and we had "Ski P.E" in the winter. During "Ski P.E" we would leave school at noon with our snowboard or ski instructors and head to the mountain to enjoy an afternoon of riding the slopes.
About Me
I have my Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I currently teach Communication and Religion as a full-time faculty member at North Central Michigan College.
Experience
I have been teaching Communication, Writing, and English classes at UW Madison for 7 years. Prior to that, I worked in a k-12 context as a teacher’s aide focusing on reading-comprehension/illinois/chicago">reading comprehension.
Approach
My chicago">tutoring philosophy is simple; every student learns differently and discerning what works best for each student is key. This means listening first and speaking with parents and teachers to discern what needs to change in the student's learning/studying habits and adjusting accordingly. Instilling confidence while also challenging the student is an important part of this process.
