Fun Facts
My main passions in life are Jesus, outdoors, reading, music, and shooting. I am on the TCU Women's Rifle team and have been involved in competitive shooting for most of my life. I also love ballroom dancing, even though I only know basic steps. I take any and every opportunity to be outside camping, hiking, or just what I like to call "adventuring" - which is essentially just randomly exploring whatever is around me!
About Me
I am a freshman at Texas Christian University. I am currently majoring in Psychology, although I plan on switching to Social Work next year. I am a part of the Honors College here. My ultimate goal is to be a social worker and be involved in ministry to kids and families in unfortunate circumstances.
Experience
Because I was homeschooled throughout my life, I have a lot of experience assisting my three younger siblings with their school work, including working through lesson plans, helping them read, and helping them get to the point of being able to work through and truly understand the material on their own. Additionally, I have volunteered with several events/organizations that allowed me to work with kids in a variety of situations.
Approach
I don't want to simply provide answers to students so they receive a good grade; I want to encourage students to truly engage the material and work to understand it so they grow as people. I believe the ultimate purpose in everything is to glorify God and that provides the greatest motivation for doing the best work we possibly can. I truly love working with people, and I try to be patient and encouraging while challenging them to be the best they can possibly be.
