Fun Facts
Music is my favorite thing! I have a voice degree and play six instruments [poorly]. I taught English and theatre in Korea for nearly three years, during which time I got into SCUBA diving. I'm excited to dive the Caribbean and Central/South America now that I'm back in the Western hemisphere!
About Me
I graduated cum laude from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Performance with an overall GPA of 3.5. I was often on the Dean's and President's Honor Rolls, was recognized as a "Fabulous Fifty" Freshman, and was named to the Who's Who of American College Students. I plan to continue performing and perhaps pursue a Master's in Musical Theatre/Vocal Pedagogy.
Experience
During all four years of college, I worked for the English department as a writing/grammar and music theory tutor. Since then, I have taught English conversation, writing, grammar, and reading comprehension to Korean students, as well as theatre, and dance, at kindergarten-high school levels and have tutored college-level ear training. I love making a difference in students' lives and look forward to continuing that work!
Approach
I believe that students perform better when they are engaged in the material, so I seek to make subjects interesting to students. My passion and enthusiasm are my biggest tools to achieve this goal, along with extensive knowledge of my subject areas. Learning and studying should not be stressful situations--I want my students realize a joy for learning that will carry them through their lives!

Musical Theatre Performance (Voice)
English Tutoring
In high school, I scored a 700 SAT Verbal and 34 ACT English. Due to these scores, I was invited to tutor writing & grammar in the OCU English department's Learning Enhancement Center. I completed extensive grammar and tutor training and tutored both American and International students for four years.
Music Theory Tutoring
I hold a Bachelor of Music from one of the top programs in the country. Core subjects include Music Theory I-IV and Aural Skills I-IV. In addition to high marks in these subjects areas, I tutored upper level Theory (III & IV) regularly upon completion of those courses. I also tutored Ear Training to an adult student while living in Seoul, enabling him to pass an online course that had been failed twice.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I maintained As in all high school English classes and have been an avid reader my whole life. I spent three years teaching ESL in Korea, including extensive work in reading comprehension. This experience includes kindergarten-high school students.
Spanish I Tutoring
I love learning languages! I studied Spanish to a high level for three years of high school. I completed Spanish I, II, & III, Spanish III being for college credit, and received all As.

I have been involved in performing arts my entire life. I play several instruments, hold a degree in voice, and have taught drama & dance to kindergarten and elementary school students. I have performed in many plays, musicals, and operas over the last 18 years, and have enjoyed choreographing and directing community and high school musical productions.

Music History Tutoring
I hold a music degree from one of the top programs in the country, Oklahoma City University's Bass School of Music. As such, I have trained in all areas of musical education. Courses completed include Music Survey and Music History I & II.
Voice (Music) Tutoring
I hold a degree in voice from one of the top programs in the country. I have sung in semi-professional choirs abroad and in professional musical productions in the U.S. I specialize in musical theatre singing but am also classically and operatically trained.
