Fun Facts

Though I grew up in and around Chicago, I lived in Portland, Oregon for the last several years. Living in Oregon fostered my love of outdoor activities. I frequently hiked, camped, and kayaked. In fact, I was captain of a dragon boating team in Portland. Now that I have returned to Chicago, I intend to continue enjoying outdoor activities through bike riding along Lake Michigan and training for a marathon!

About Me

Currently, I am a doctoral student in school psychology at Loyola University. Prior to my doctoral program, I obtained degrees in education (NIU) and social work (chicago">University of Chicago). I've always enjoyed working with youth, particularly in the areas of reading, reading-comprehension/illinois/chicago">reading comprehension, math, and psychosocial development.

As an educator for Chicago Public Schools and Wilmette District 39, I frequently tutored students after school hours. chicago">Tutoring allowed me to build wonderful relationships with students and their families that have remained with me over time. I am excited to build new relationships as a Frog chicago">Tutor.

For a student to successfully navigate their educational journey, it takes organziation, confidence, and a strong support system. As a chicago">tutor, I work to teach students life long skills such as using a planner and organizing tasks/projects. I also collaborate with families and teachers to provide a positive support system for each student. However, my overall goal as a chicago">tutor is to provide students opportunities to exerience success that build confidence in learning.
