I love the outdoors. I go to the beach almost everyday. I play football, basketball, and ultimate Frisbee. I also skateboard and snowboard. I believe being active and being successful in school go hand in hand. Physical activity focuses the mind and keeps the body in tip top shape.

About Me

My name is washington/milton">Milton Strausberg. I am a graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles. I am from Los Angeles, and I have lived here my entire life. Los Angeles is one of the best cities in the world, and I am glad I was born here. I went to Paul Revere Middle School and Palisades Charter High School.

I have been a tutor since my sophomore year at Palisades High School, where I tutored Math and English. I found the tutoring experience to be very rewarding. Helping people improve is an awesome opportunity and academics are an area where I usually see clients improve very rapidly.

When I tutor students, I attempt to assess their current skill level in the topic. I make sure they are proficient in all of the areas required for the current topic. In my experience, the biggest stumbling block for students in school is not having proper fundamentals in a subject before progressing to the next level. When I tutor, I look to make sure the student understands both the mechanics and the concept behind what he or she is learning.

Experience

I have tutored people in a wide range of subjects from college level calculus to middle school history. I have been a tutor for almost ten years, and I take pride in improving my students academic abilities.

Approach

I start from the ground up. I like to first determine where my student is strong and where he or she needs improvement. Once I have assessed what topics my student needs help with I build a comprehensive learning plan that begins with the fundamentals of the topic and ends with subject mastery.
