Fun Facts
I love to run! I have run six half marathons and two marathons to date, and some day plan on being that old lady at the race that inspires you with her wrinkles, endurance and joy of the sport. I crave freedom, excitement and adventure which guided me to live a year in Taiwan and travel extensively throughout SouthEast Asia. I enjoy baking and get creative decorating cakes.
About Me
I graduated with a BA in English from Brigham Young University and was awarded two academic scholarships. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I plan to graduate as a Licensed Addictions Counselor and possibly continuing my education to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Experience
I taught English as a second language in Taiwan to school aged children. Upon returning to the United States I taught ESL as a substitute teacher at an adult school.
Approach
I have always loved teaching and for many years planned on becoming a university professor. I have volunteered my time in my community teaching adults and children, including volunteering in my children's classes and of course helping them with their homework. As a professional tutor I believe in the power of support, and believe knowledge is empowering. With help, all things are possible!
