Fun Facts
I love to do things outdoors. Especially when it starts to cool off and isn't 117 degrees outside! I love to bike ride, hike and go camping. I also really enjoy doing yoga and watching baseball, although not simultaneously! I am the youngest of three girls and had lived in the same home in Albuquerque prior to moving out here to go to ASU last year.
About Me
I am a junior at Arizona State University. I am studying biochemistry and hope to go on to get a masters degree, also in biochemistry, after I graduate. Once I am out of school, I plan on doing medical research or possibly becoming a pediatric physician's assistant.
During my senior year of high school, I worked with some of the special needs students at my school helping them to complete their assignments. I also had the opportunity to work with both middle school and high school aged students in math and chemistry. Since I have been in college, I have helped friends when they have had problems understanding either their math homework or studying for a chemistry test. Working with Frog phoenix">Tutoring will give me the chance to do, as a job, what I have already been doing unofficially.
I believe that the best way to help students is to teach them that they can find the answers to their questions. Many times I've seen a lack of confidence in the students I have worked with and they have just given up trying to find the answers. I try to ask a lot of questions and help the students to discover what they already do know, and then fill in the gaps that they are missing. Doing well in school first starts with the students believing that they can.
