About Me
If I had to describe myself in simply three words, I would say that I am organized, motivated, and compassionate. My dream is to become a successful physician and to travel the world in hopes of tending to the medically undeserved. I am a senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Microbiology and Psychology. I am also in the process of attaining a masters degree through an accelerated master's program at UA. Once completed, my hope is to apply to medical school next summer.
Just this past summer, I worked at the University of Arizona through a program called New Start. New Start is a summer program for incoming freshman that wish to take summer school classes before they begin their semester. I enjoyed my experience with the program because I could tell that I truly made a difference in the students' comprehension. Furthermore, I tutored ENG 101 to the students that needed it and I wish to expand my teaching to other subjects and more students. I have made a considerable amount of progress with respect to learning how to tucson">tutor and being receptive to the diverse needs of varying students.
My approach is simple. My goal is to help the student clear up any misunderstandings that he or she has on the specific homework assignment. Thus, once zeroing in on what the student needs help with, I make sure to fully engage the student in what I explain. I expect the student to reiterate in his or her own words what I have described. I check for comprehension and if the student appears to still be struggling, I go back through what the student needs help with, tackling the topic at a different angle. The student's needs are what matter most and I will stop at nothing in order to ensure that the student is comfortable and receptive to my tucson">tutoring.
