Fun Facts
When I have some relaxing time to myself, I love to spend it practicing yoga or playing violin. I've played violin for 18 years now! I enjoy trying all the different types of tea, which sounds kind of silly but there are so many! Not to mention it's so calming to just sit down with a cup of tea! I also love to be outdoors, so taking walks or exploring the city are my favorite things to do when the weather is nice. Oh, and of course I love football season in the fall!
About Me
I was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin in the shadow of Lambeau Field (don't worry, I'm accepting of Bears fans!). I have a younger sister, and grew up with a house full of pets - cats and a dog, and then even a few fish and a lizard! As a first-generation college student, I hold the value of education to the highest degree. My parents instilled the importance of education from a young age; educating young absolutely ensures a strong foundation for a successful and happy future. I plan to continue with my education after I graduate this May, and hope to get my doctorate in neurobiology. I love science and medicine.
My first job, like many young people was babysitting at age 12. Already ahead in school, I put in extra hours when the kids would come home from class to help with their homework and studying. With the kids that I tutored as well as in my own development, studying always came before TV or playing on the computer! Along with babysitting, I always worked as a mentor for my younger sister, who was diagnosed with ADD around age six. Where I excelled in school, she struggled, and my parents saw that as a great opportunity to have both of us benefit!
My approach to chicago">tutoring really focuses on understanding a problem or idea and realizing that the answer means little to nothing if you cannot explain how you arrived at it. I want my students to be able to solve a problem on their own if they encounter it outside the help of chicago">tutors, the classroom, or other mentors. Understanding is the absolute key to any problem, which certainly is an ideal that extends beyond the classroom. I intend to work on instilling the same belief that if at first you do not succeed, absolutely keep trying, because in education, continuous learning is vital. That being said, my completion of my psychology coursework definitely works to my advantage as I am able to really use the student's personality to work with my chicago">tutoring style.
