Fun Facts
Ever since I was young, I've had a strong passion for singing and dancing. Throughout my life, I've taken part in several activities involving the arts, including ballet and pointe lessons, musicals, church and school choir, my high school's ukulele club and dance team, and voice, piano, and clarinet lessons. Although I am not majoring in this area of study, I continue to keep singing and dancing as a hobby of mine and an outlet to relieve stress from school.
About Me
I am a first year applied math major attending San Diego State University. Although I do not yet have a GPA due to the fact that the fall semester is still in progress, my current grades are high and I intend to keep them that way. After college, if I decide not to go to graduate school to earn my master's degree, I plan to study for and take the preliminary actuarial exams, hosted by the Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society. My career goal, then, is to become an actuary.
Experience
I was apart of my high school's Peer Tutoring Club, and was an on-call tutor. So far, I've only tutored in math, specifically pre-calculus, but am open to tutoring in other subject areas. I also have done casual tutoring for friends who were struggling in certain classes. I am interested in being a tutor because I enjoy helping students who need a little extra boost to reach their full potential, and believe that Frog Tutoring will allow me the chance to do so.
Approach
I believe that the key to effective tutoring is patience and understanding. Some students may not fully comprehend a concept when it is explained the first time, so tutors must try out different methods of explanation until the student is able to grasp whatever is being taught. I plan to do this and to provide a safe and friendly environment in which the student feels comfortable learning in. In addition, I plan to create a sense of trust with the student, so that he or she can learn better.

Study Skills Tutoring
Being an honors student for most of my life, I believe I have the right preparation skills when it comes to studying, and can pass those skills onto other students.
Algebra Tutoring
Although I took Algebra in middle school, I believe my skills are competent enough to teach this subject at the high school level. I received an A both semesters when I took the class. Being a math major, I have to use basic algebraic concepts in all my major classes, thus continually reinforcing my knowledge of the subject area.
Algebra II Tutoring
I took this class my sophomore year of high school, and received a B+ both semesters. I feel confident in my knowledge of the subject area and ability to teach it to others. Being a math major, I regularly use concepts learned in Algebra II in my major classes.
Calculus Tutoring
Although I took a more advanced version of this class, AP Calculus AB, I believe that I can teach the material just as effectively in the lower level. I received an A/A- during the course of the class and use most of the concepts from the class in the math class I am currently in, Calculus BC.
Calculus AP Tutoring
I took AP Calculus AB my senior year of high school and received an A the first semester and an A- the second semester. I regularly use concepts learned in this class for the math class I am in now, Calculus BC.
Economics Tutoring
I took Economics my senior year of high school and received an A+. I was able to fully grasp the concepts and am confident that I am able to teach them effectively.
Math Tutoring
The math subjects I have taken are Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, and am currently taking Calculus II. I have excelled in all these classes, getting A's in almost all subjects. I have tutored Pre-Calculus and have yet to tutor the other subjects, but am confident of my ability to teach them effectively.
Math Advance Tutoring
The math subjects I have taken are Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, and am currently taking Calculus II. Pre Algebra Tutoring
I took Pre-Algebra in 7th grade and received A's both semesters. Because I am a math major, I continue to use the fundamentals learned in this class when working towards my degree.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I took this class my junior year of high school, and did very well in the course, getting A's both semesters. I understood all concepts thoroughly and am confident that I possess the skills to teach them to others.
Spanish I Tutoring
I took this class my freshman year of high school and received A's both semesters. With having taken four years of Spanish, I believe I have the right skills needed to tutor in this subject.
Spanish II Tutoring
I took Spanish II Honors my sophomore year of high school. Although it was one of the harder Spanish classes I've taken, I was able to receive A's for both the fall and spring semesters. I am confident that I have the foundation necessary to teach Spanish at the second-year level.
Spanish III Tutoring
I took the International Baccalaureate course associated with Spanish III during my third year of high school, and received an A in the course. I am confident in my skills to tutor this subject well.
Middle School Math Tutoring
In middle school, I took Pre-Algebra Honors and Algebra I Honors and received A's in both courses.Now enrolled in Calculus II, I believe that I have mastered the concepts taught in these classes.
Spanish Tutoring
Although I have not taken Spanish at the middle school level, I took Spanish all four years of high school and, receiving A's in all four courses, believe that I could be of great help to those struggling in the subject area.
Homework Coach Tutoring
Going into my 13th year of school, I feel that I have come up with effective strategies to complete homework to the best quality. I am able to help all students get their homework done and can also be a valuable resource.
Elementary Math Tutoring
With math being my favorite subject in school, it has always been a subject I excelled in, and am confident in my ability to tutor at the elementary school level.
Science Tutoring
In elementary school, I excelled in all areas of science, receiving first place in my school's science fair in the 5th and 6th grades.
