I am passionate about many things, though three things tend to stand out to people when they first meet me; outer-space (I am completely obsessed), reading (once again, completely obsessed), and hiking. About Me
I decided what I wanted to accomplish with my life at a very young age. I decided in the fourth grade that I wanted to go to space, and discovered that in order to meet this goal I had to become an Aerospace Engineer. Well, that part of my goal is now complete, but my journey to space is not yet complete. I am currently working on gaining my Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering, which I will then use to begin my career in the space industry.
I began tucson">tutoring when I was still in High School. I discovered my love of math, and became a tucson">tutor for the Geometry students a year behind me. I really enjoyed aiding them in discovering the joys of math, and seeing their confidence grow as they learned more and became comfortable with the subject. Since then, I have tutored numerous subjects (mainly math based due to my major), as well as edited papers. I have also been the tutored, as many of my classes require a significant amount of time be spent with the professor in his office hours as he explains some particularly difficult topic.
I believe that learning, not just tucson">tutoring, begins with the basics. As long as you have the fundamentals down, there is nothing you can not do with the subject. So when I begin tucson">tutoring, I first attempt to discover where the gaps in understanding are, and then begin to fill in those gaps. Once the fundamentals have been taken care of, repetition and encouragement allow the confidence to grow that will enable the student to take on more challenging problems, whether they be in Math, Science, History or English.
