Fun Facts
I was a Rotary Youth Exchange student in France my sophomore year of high school and I also took a gap year between high school and college as a Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange student to Germany. In addition, I spent one of my college semesters as a student at the Catholic University of the West in Angers, France, not far from Paris. In effect, I am fluent in four languages: Spanish, English, French and German! I love to travel!
About Me
I am currently a college senior majoring in Global Studies with a focus on Europe and a minor in French. I have a passion for learning and I have decided that I would like to go on to graduate school in the future and earn a Phd in history. I spent my summer doing a fellowship that allowed me to do research on a historical topic of interest to me and studying for the Graduate Record Exam. I also had the opportunity to present my research at a national conference!
I have helped a student build a foundation in German before spending a year in Germany as an exchange student. While in France, I helped a French adopted child from Honduras learn the language of his native land--Spanish. I also regularly edit college essays for my peers.
As a austin">tutor I believe that a solid foundation from which the student can build his or her understanding is necessary in order to move forward. Therefore I always like to review the absolute basics in a subject to make sure there are no gaps in the student's understanding. Paired with making a difficult subject fun and understandable, success comes naturally!
