About Me
I am a recent graduate from the Masters Program in History at the University of New Mexico. While history is my passion, as a student, I have also been very successful in the disciplines of reading, writing, math and Spanish. Although I am no longer a student, I see teaching as an excellent opportunity to remain involved in academia. I find nothing more rewarding than helping a student achieve academic success and instill in them a confidence and belief that, with hard work and dedication, their goals can be achieved.
In terms of experience, I have tutored both at the high school and university level. Last year, I served as a Graduate Assistant in the History Department at the University of New Mexico. As a Graduate Assistant, I held two office hours per week in which I worked one-on-one with my students, helping them study for exams, enhance their note-taking skills, organize essays with thesis statements, and provided crucial feedback on how to improve their classroom performance. At the high school level, I was a member of National Honors Society and provided albuquerque">tutoring services to Freshmen and Sophomores, offering my assistant in a variety of subjects including math, reading, and writing.

Generally speaking, however, for subjects such as history and reading, I try to teach my students how to read selectively by underlining important passage and taking notes on critical themes, concepts, arguments, etc. For math, I often find it helpful to use flash cards or mnemonic devices for remembering complex equations or formulas. Nonetheless, to reiterate, my albuquerque">tutoring approach is based on the needs of the particular student, instead of what I am most
