Fun Facts
Despite my degree in engineering I consider myself a very personable guy. I love improv games, and was a leader on my high school debate team. I am an avid rock climber and can be found in the local indoor rock gym at least two or three times a week. Batman would totally beat Superman any day of the week, and I can prove it. I love old, classic black and white movies.
About Me
I recently graduated Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an Applied Mathematics minor. I plan on attending graduate school within the next year. I hope to earn a Masters' degree in Aerospace engineering with an emphasis on propulsion. I want to be a rocket scientist.
While I was attending Loyola Marymounth University I was employed by the school's Mathematics Department as a peer tutor. I enjoyed nearly three years of work in that position, where I helped students with homework questions, test preparation, general concepts, and everything in between. Most of my experience is with small groups or one on one sessions in college level mathematics.
I have a firm belief that no one approach to teaching is correct and that everyone learns differently. I often find myself trying a variety of different ways and methods to explain a concept until one "clicks" with a student. I am very visual thinker and love to explain math in visual terms. I have a passion for mathematics, calculus in particular, and love to share my enthusiasm with my students. I know math can seem daunting at times, but I have yet to meet a student would couldn't conquer it with a little encouragement, determination, and help.
