Fun Facts

Originally from the suburbs of Milwaukee, I went to the chicago">University of Chicago for college and graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Economics. I'm an avid sports fan, as I follow the NFL, NBA, & MLB, and I still play soccer every once when I'm able to find the free time. Besides those interests, my current passions lie in biking along the lake shore and practicing photography.

Please note: While my base university is the chicago">University of Chicago, I live on the north side of Chicago in the Wicker Park/N

About Me

A year removed from graduating college, I'm currently working as a Financial Analyst for a startup in Chicago. I originally began my post-college career as a management consultant, but ended up changing career paths in an effort to contribute more to my community and to society as a whole. While I have motivations to do post-graduate studies in statistics and/or science/illinois/chicago">computer science, my ultimate goal is to open my own non-profit consulting and advisory firm in the future. I think working for Frog chicago">Tutoring allows me to continue to contribute to my community while building the necessary experience to move into the non-profit and social service sectors. It also allows me to keep my mind fresh in preparation for graduate-level standardized tests and admissions procedures.

My relevant chicago">tutoring experience is limited, but I hope to quickly increase that with Frog chicago">Tutoring. While I was in high school, I privately tutored the SAT/ACT to two family friends for a total of 40 teaching hours. They both performed better on their standardized tests and were able to gain entrance into the college of their choice.

While chicago">tutoring those two students, I used a very hands on, intensive approach that involved a fair amount of extra work outside the classroom. As a chicago">tutor, I believe immensely in building rapport with a student so that proper feedback can be given about the best teaching strategies.
I try to closely analyze each student's weaknesses and build lesson plans to improve those weaknesses. Finally, it's important for a student to have some measure of fun, so I try to build incentives (e.g. baseball game on the weekend) to motivate the student to do better.

My relevant statistics:
-SAT 2370 (770 Critical Reading, 800 Math, 800 Writing); ACT 35 (35 English, 36 Math, 34 Reading, 35 Science)
-2006 National Merit Semifinalist & National AP Scholar
-took AP BC Calculus, AP Physics C, AP English Literature, AP US History, AP Psychology, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry with six 5's and two
