I am passionate about changing the social conditions of underprivileged communities. I have made it my life's mission to investigate and find solutions to the complex problems that developing nations face. My desire for social equality lead to my studying aboard in Namibia my junior year of college.While in Namibia I had the pleasure of working with various entrepreneurs to design social responsibility program for their enterprise.
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Denison University. While at Denison, I majored in Economics, International relations and Affairs and Black Studies. I plan on using the knowledge and experiences that I have gained at Denison University to seek a career in the development world. My ultimate goal is to work for United Nation. I want to aid in the development of a comprehensive economic and social policy in order to equip developing nations with the knowledge to effectively use their scarce resources.
Experience
. My tutoring experience at Jesus Power Assemblies of God, as well as my teaching experience at the Boys and Girls club, has a equipped me with patience skills, listening skills, adaptability skills, energetic skills and creative skills. I believe that it is essential to relate with students as well as channel their best abilities. Students in my ACT workshop classes were able to improve their ACT scores by two or more points due to my ability to optimize my students' academic abilities.
Approach
I help students reach their academic goals by fostering a positive environment that allows them to learn and grow from their mistakes. I encourage students to take ownership of their learning and allow them to arrive at their own conclusions. I believe students become critical and analytical thinkers, when they are actively engaged and involved in the learning process.
