My name is Jefferson Bedell, I started my first year in graduate school this fall and will be doing research that pertains to Alzheimer disease. I enjoy all facets of music, from playing it to producing it and everything in between. I hope to one day become a doctor of medicine and to practice as a pediatric neurosurgeon.
About Me
I was born overseas and was brought up as a military child. That being said, we only moved five times which is not very much when it comes to the military. I graduated in the fall of 2011 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in music. I enjoy learning anything pertaining to the brain or music and enjoy learning how to do new things.
I have been tutoring for almost two years and have tutored students that were all different ages. I was a Supplemental Instructor for an Organic Chemistry course at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I held sessions twice a week and went over the various concepts that were discussed in class. I have also been a tutor at a community college and tutored both biology and chemistry.
When tutoring students I like to keep in mind the main goal of the session or sessions, which is to gain independence, so that the student is able to not only do well in his or her current classes but whatever class they take in the future. In order to obtain such goals the environment must be a comfortable one which promotes the use of questions, not for the answers, but how to retrieve the answer.
