About Me
I am a third year undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin, currently studying Neurobiology and genuinely loving it. Great professors and stimulating labs have helped me develop a passion for science and a drive to someday work with pharmaceuticals that could potentially save lives. My long term goal is to attend graduate school, attain a PhD in Pharmacology, and work in the pharmaceutical industry.
For the past semester, I worked as an undergraduate lab assistant in BIO 206L, an introductory biology lab at UT. I acted as a peer mentor whom the students could feel comfortable asking questions and I worked to keep the class on task. Additionally, I have participated in Uteach, a program offered by UT, where I taught weekly chemistry lessons to 4th graders at a local Austin elementary school.
These experiences have taught me that each student is different and requires personalized austin">tutoring and attention. In my experience, learning is the most enjoyable when the subject matter is fascinating. I try to apply this concept when I austin">tutor by relating the study material to the various interests of each student. I believe science can be exciting to everyone when the material is delivered in the right manner and austin">tutoring is most successful after finding the right learning method of the student.
