Fun Facts
I grew up in the middle of New Jersey where I was constantly seeking out fun new ways to have a good time. As a person who loves to eat, I actually took part in some food eating competitions! I also spent all of my summers as a swim instructor at a day camp where I was able to put my love of teaching to use. My favorite activity of all, though, was as an emergency medical technician for my town's first aid squad giving me the chance to ride ambulances to medical emergencies!
About Me
In 2014 I graduated from Johns Hopkins University as a Public Health major with a concentration in Immunology and Infectious Diseases. I then went on to complete a Masters program at Georgetown University in human physiology. Given the amount of schooling I have gone through myself, I have taken a wide range of subjects and more standardized tests than I would like to admit. My plan is to go to medical school, but in the meantime I try to teach as much as possible!
Experience
During high school I helped my friends and two brothers to study their ways through various classes. It wasn't until college, though, that I started working for The Princeton Review as an SAT instructor and an MCAT instructor. I also taught Sunday school at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation to give myself more opportunities to teach. Johns Hopkins also has a club called The Tutorial Project which I became involved in midway through my undergraduate career to tutor Baltimore students.
Approach
I know firsthand what it is like to be bogged down by material from way too many classes at once. And it can become even more difficult to focus when you throw a standardized test like the SAT or the MCAT into the mix. Because I have been through it, I bring to my students the unique perspective of a recently stressed out student myself who can communicate with them on a personal level. I work to understand what is the most difficult, the most motivating, and the most rewarding for my students.

SAT Verbal/Writing Tutoring
I took the SAT when applying to college and scored a 700 and a 690 on the SAT writing section and verbal section, respectively. Given my experience with this test I know how to master it. I also taught as an SAT instructor for the Princeton Review, so I have experience in tutoring this subject matter.
Science Tutoring
As a pre-medical student at Johns Hopkins University I was required to take classes in biology, physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, and mathematics. Not only that, but I majored in public health which allowed me to continually take science courses throughout my undergraduate career. I have a passion for all of the sciences, and have tutored students in several of these topics in the past. And so, I bring to my students study skills, useful information, and helpful tips and tricks for studying anything in the scientific field.

I also have experience teaching the SAT for the Princeton Review and skills that are easily transferable from one test to another.
MCAT Tutoring
I recently took my own MCAT exam (September 23, 2015) and scored in the 98th percentile.
